Build a Boat - illustration for new boat site

This illustration is still in progress. It kind of relates to the 'build' theme as it is going to be the background for a Flash microsite that has "build a boat" functionality. I wanted to share the smaller comp version with everyone before the finishing touches are added. It will most likely take a few more days (and rounds of client comments) to complete the final illustration. This was created with Illustrator and Photoshop. There are several hundred layers built up from parts and pieces from different digital photos and other hand-drawn illustrations. I will post the final piece and site link once it is finished. It may take a few weeks since it is going to take quite a lot of programming in Flash.

Looks like fun (and work)! Are you adding sounds to it too?

Oh yes. Very much fun. It will be an informative and entertaining experience that builds on the excitement of hitting the water. It should compel you to mentally linger, dreaming up your perfect getaway. It will be a great example of a Web site that meets both tangible and emotional needs. It will have sounds and other stimulus to make people want to contact their local dealer. :)

Thats cool! I use Flash alot for my work too.. It is my favorite program! For reals you should post it when you finish! I know how hard sites can be using flash. Especially when it gets into tons of actionscript!

What an ambitious woman you are! I'm impressed. Will I enjoy it even if I can't swim and am afraid of the water?
Please thank Sully for his email. I still don't get it but I'll have a go at it :P
