joining the hosta collective.

and i picked one of the HOTTEST days yet to do it. (what's that awesome garbage song? oh yeah! STUPPPID GIRRL!) i decided to become a gardener today. i went whole hog on soil, on shiny implements on really girly-girly insulated fingertip gloves! (they have these tiny little ladybugs crawling all over them! soooo cute!)

annnnyway..... i went a bit nuts, on this one particular plant, a hosta. did you know there are over 670 varieties of hosta? did you know that they run btw 8-800 clams a pop?

the sales lady...she had this scary grin, like a jack o lantern.

"once you buy your first hostas...you'll never stop."

"joinnnnnnn us. it's blisssssssssss!" (ok she didn't say that part, marge simpson did, in treehouse of horror 3, but this lady had that same oogly eyed, brain wacko look.)

and then i came home, $270 dollars poorer, with plants.

And since i love lichtenstein, i drew this.

I can already imagine those little red devils, creeping out from behind all these plants late tonight, throwing a little plant orgy party, sacrificing a weaker plant to the mulcher. :)

I grow zucchini. 3 feet long and 20 inches in diameter. It takes 6 nights to eat one.

OH! I get it now...the warning about the slugs! I thought of warning you about slugs and hostas, too, then I remembered about your slug warning on your "Murray and uncle" illo. Sometimes it takes me a while to connect the dots!

no WAY, tracy! are you a "hostaphile" ? my head is TOTALLY spinning at how many there are...

some are minis like MICKEY MOUSE EARS and others are, extra large or giant and well-titled with names like, JURASSIC PARK.

and, sadly...i juts got back from the nursery...and bought 2 more. oh this is ALL i need. another expensive hobby!
