This, plus another side-table exactly like this, were the first and only pieces of furniture I have ever painted in my life. I must say I had a good time, though, and I'd like to repeat the experience, if only I can find the time to do it. They were two very old and plain side tables. I first painted the with a dark red colour, then pearl colour and after this one dried, I used an aluminium sponge to scrap it here and there so that the darker colour below would show and make it look old. The I painted the floral and finally protected the whole thing with varnish (the non-glossy kind).

Painted Side table
