It's always tough for me to call myself an artist. But art can take many shapes. I illustrated myself with paint, but it could've been with many other mediums. When I draw I take my hair up, I gather my stuff and I do my best. As long as we have fun doing what we do, we can call ourselves artists...

I agree; whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, we all have some sort of talents. If you like drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. then I think you can consider yourself an artist. :) Great illo by the way! I like that crazy hair and the knowing wink.

"I'm an artist" always sounded too pretentious to me. Like saying "I'm above your mundane existence." Of course, for many, it's also a lot like saying "I'm unemployed." :)
