Warrior-Illustrator

I teach Multimedia Illustration to soldiers and marines at the Defense Information School. These men and women have volunteered to serve their country, they are warriors first and Illustrators second. When they graduate from my class they are stationed all over the world.

During every major war we have been there to record events with our Art. For another look at Warriors checkout Combat Scribblers

This is a compilation of two Photos that I shot. One is a foggy shot of the Appalachian Trail and the other is one of my Marine students doing a field sketch.

Warrior, Jeff I think you missed your mark. A Marine is a Marine first and an illustrator second. I think the Corps would feel that this doesn't represent them. What is with the Hellboy effect or blood on his face? Does it represent his killer pencil skills? It's a good try, but I think you are off your mark.

Killer pencil skills! Ha!

I like it, Jeff. To me, the red tone felt more like a smokey sunset, sort of illustration under fire. And I think most people would agree that the proud, the few, are warriors, in the best way. Great work.
