last weekend i took my son out to a petting farm, to do some sketching for my cbook about this little piggy (she's up top, right.) i needed to create her "fellow farm residents" so i brought my sketchpad, my 5 year old ANNNDD a friend to help keep my 5 year old from trying to climb into the pens with the little piggies. these are some of the sketches, trying to make them characters now...sweet, wise farm horses, bossy chickens, opinionated sheep, tired mommy farm dogs.
i'm sorry but chickens just seem NATURALLY bossy to me. like, chickens know everything.

These are great drawings! I see them as a series of illustrations for Orwell's "Animal Farm". All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
awesome, thats one of the thing i miss about living in the city, going to the zoo with my sketchbook...
these are beautiful by the way
I like these a lot!
Btw. sheep are also naturally very opinionated. I work as a photographer for animal magazines and sheep definitely have the opinion that my hair is their natural candy.
Awesome characters!!! Their expressions give them so much life! My fave is that cute piggy!!!
Great drawings, Frooooggiiiiiieeeee!
Mmm-MWUH!
