Bird

The Eagle and the Tortoise - one of Aesop's fables. Envious of the freedom of birds, the tortoise pleaded with the eagle to teach him to fly and even offered him treasure. The eagle consented to do the best he could and picked him up in his talons but, on reaching a great height, he let the tortoise go and he fell to his death.

Not one of favorite Aesop fable but it certainly stands out in my mind. Well illustrated!
