Goddess

For this week’s challenge I decided to create a “Goddess of Illustration”. She is holding (clockwise) scissors, a pen, a crayon, the Monday Artday bird, an ink bottle, a brush, a color tube and a moleskine. The idea to this picture took just a minute, but I needed quite some time to finish it. Unlike the Indian goddesses who are depicted riding a tiger or a lion, mine is sitting on a cat. Illustrators almost always seem to own cats…
In case you've wondered: I don’t have an afro hairstyle, but my hair is usually all over the place, so this depiction is rather appropriate.

Cats? who? Do illustrators have cats? That's so not true...

(- mom, please, hide Fito!)

Hehehe...

Your Goddess is great, Ella!

I really, really like this! And it looks like my cat, Bliss who actually is big and fat enough to ride :P I love all of your art supplies too, esp the moleskine which I've become addicted to lately.

What an interesting idea. The combination of symbolism from other goddesses built up to represent one for illustration. Brilliant! Gosh, why didn't I think of something like this? I'm lacking in imagination lately. Maybe I'll get it kick started here and catch up to you. heh
Gorgeous goddess.
