sigh...if i COULD have pet it would be her....i'd call her hannah kate. i'd get her as a puppy and carry her everywhere as bassett puppies can't do stairs until they are older. i'd buy her a green octopus chew toy and i'd name it mr. tentacles. i'd feel her warm little curl of a body at my feet as i worked here...drawing so many other dogs for so many other people.
my oldest son is terrified of dogs. little and big so, no dog. no hannah. maybe some day he won't be so afraid. he does like cats tho...but i'm allergic. and this is how the gods work these things. :(
i grew up with german shepherds, a huge saint bernard named sammie and a crazy loon of an irish setter named duffy who ate almost every barbie i had.
so, for this, for today...here's my make believe pet.

That's so sad, Colleen :'(
Luckily, kids grow fast... so you can have her back soon :) She's gorgeous!
WHat a great looking doggie :P
dogs terrify me too.
great illustration, though.
aaaaw, how sad, every boy should grow up with a dog....wouldn't he adjust to a cute little puppy and grow as it grows?
Love your drawing of Hannah Kate, and such a sweet but a little sad explanation. I was afraid of dogs when I was younger, but I outgrew it. So there's hope! =)
OMG she's adorable!!! And you know what? She looks a little like....you! I really mean this is the nicest way. I think you've antropomorphed her without knowing it because you want her so much. Right??? Just look at her....awww. She's beautiful. And the cat allergy thing...you can live with that. I'm allergic to dogs and cats (cats are worse) but I can't live or work without them. Look into options Ms. froggie so you guys don't have to live without fuzzy family members :)
