Hello everyone... My Grandpa (the best grandpa in the whole world) passed away yesterday. I will give you a new challenge for the week but I will not be on this site or checking my email for awhile. So if you are wanting to join, please be patient and as soon as things are a little better around here I will add you as a member.

I lost my grandfather (Papa Charley) last year on Thanksgiving day. It took weeks before I realized it was real. I was thinking about it again last night while talking to my husband. It was at least a week before I cried, outside of the funeral. I spent most of the funeral trying to explain to my, then 5 year old daughter about death. We ended up at the library getting books on death and birth. Quite an adventure. I haven't been back to my parents'/grandma's house since then. This Christmas will be my first time back since he 'went home'.
I hope all your memories of your Grandpa are happy ones and that he stays in your heart always. May your mourning be short, and your love for him live on.
