Four panels, one character.
This is a 2 week challenge! Why? Because, one, it'll take some time to complete and two, I'm on vacation next week so I can't judge next Monday. :)
I just got back from the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Conference. One of the things editors like to see in portfolios is the ability to maintain a consistent character in a series. This is useful for any series illustrator, whether for children's books, comic books, magazines, graphic novels, etc. - so it should apply to everyone here.
Your assignment is to create a character (preferably human, animals are easier - but you can do animals if you like), and feature that character in 4 panels. Can be any style, from kids' picture books to graphic novels.
Have fun!
