Elephant painted with beet juice

I know this isn't part of a challenge, but I just wanted to share with all of you my very first beet juice painting! Thats right, 100% beet juice on watercolor paper.

Very good. I used to use coffee sometimes...started out spilling coffee on the drawing and just went from there.

Beets- they're nature's candy don'cha know? And apparently nature's watercolors. xD Great job using an unusual medium!

Such a pretty shade of violet. It's actually the color of the crown chakra.

Story: Many years ago there was a pair of women living as man and wife.. long before it was called gay or homosexual.. probably back in the Ozarks or something like that in the 1800's? .. The one woman was an artist and she painted everything with natural dyes like this..
