Josh, I loved that movie in the 60's. That's when my sister, my cousin and I fell in love with Sidney Poitier. It's heart wrenching and the whole time you're so worried that she will find out that he's black and not like him. Good that in the movie she does discover that and it doesn't matter. In the book it was awful because she rejects him. I read it years ago and I remember thinking how terrible it was but probably more realistic for the South of that day. The music is haunting and I love that too. Sad story about E. Hartman. It reminds me of Margot Kidder.
