Heaven and Hell

Hello, everyone! I'm back! Sorry if I've worried anyone. Been so busy and had a 2 week vacation in Mexico, I'm afraid I've neglected my drawing. I missed everything about drawing and my friends that know me here and on their own blogs... I missed you all so much. It's good to be back! Bearuh wrote in a comment on my blog that people have been missing me. Thanks! I love you all. I have a lot to do to catch up so expect a lot more of me! As they say in blogland, cheers!

zhm - HELL

This is my illustration for this week's subject : HELL.... (late post, but better late than never!)
Hell is always associated with fire, and suffering... the destiny of the "bad guys"...
But great fires and suffering are spreading all over the world, right here, right now....affecting a huge number of Innocent people...
so...what difference is there between war and the image we have of hell?
I know that I'm not going to hell ( I've been vvvvv good), but I've experienced war ( last year in Lebanon) and i would never forget that!
For this illustration i used a photo of a Lebanese man carrying his dead daughter during last year's war.... his face expresses a lot of suffering and pain...
click on the image for a better view!

hell

The challenge this week at Monday Artday is (not surprisingly) ...... "hell"

teeth are extruded and bones are ground/And baked into cakes which are passed around

Just like last week's word, "heaven", hell is a strange concept. I suppose it is the place you go after you die to spend enternity, if you were a real jerk when you were alive. Again, that sounds like a load of philosophical crap. However, if such a place exists, and if I were a jerk (Hey! Watch it!) I can't imagine a more horrible fate than spending eternity fishing with Jim Carrey, Jerry Lewis, Lucille Ball and Jim Morrison...... completely surrounded by asparagus. That would be enough incentive to (gulp!) be nice to my fellow human.

Good thing I don't believe in hell.

Hell

MOre of a heaven/hell combo, really. Another old one...very old. Hopefully this is the last week for recycled submissions. I'm close to caught up.

Also, please go and check out Angels for Brianna to help out a worthy cause and to view some beautiful angel-themed pieces of art.
