Fist of all, my thanks to Bearuh for inviting me and also to Val who extended the invitation. I am very grateful. This is my first post for Moday Artday. I am Ces and I am very honored to join this group. I love art. I am a registered nurse by profession and on Sundays I paint mostly in oil. Recently I started sharing my pen and ink drawings and my Moleskine Journal illustrations which I have been doing for the past four years with my blog visitors. I have a journal character named Isabella Wellesley who unlike me never gains weight and can be any age she wants :-).
I have been drawing since I was a little child then started using oil in my teenage years. I did not go to art school. I stopped painting when I was 26 due to lead from too much use of Opaque white. Then after a 20 year hiatus I started painting again. This was the painting I came up with. I hope it pleases you. It now graces the lovely home of my best friend and fellow blogger K.J. :-).
Thank you.
Ces

but i am excited.
This is a great painting. It reminds me of Modigliani, a favourtite artist. You did right to go back to painting!
Oh, Ces, I'm so glad you are painting again. I just took a peek at your blog and your paintings are amazing. You have tremendous talent and skill!
Wow, respect is due!
What a wonderful feeling this painting has, Ces. It is remarkable to me that in hangs in K.J.'s home as I recently met her! I went to see the show at the Gallery on the Green in CT - invited by my new friend carla kurt. Carla's painting based on K.J.'s poem was in the show and so we met- wow!
Another gorgeous painting Ces, love the way you use colour.
