Me @ age 8: Dancing Queen

This is my first time posting here and I'm very excited!
When I was 8 (and way younger... and older too) I used to put on my mom's necklaces, grab my faithful and always loving handsome partner (Mr. Mop) and hit the stage (our living room) to dance as if no one was watching (literally).

I miss him. We were a TERRIFIC couple!
I wonder if he still dances... (I must confess, Mr. Swiffer is not as skilled a dancer as Mr. Mop.)

Comments are always welcome and check out my website: www.littlemissmachete.ca or drop by my blog.

Cheers!

"Hope" for Children and Families

This is a piece I'm working on for "Children and Families of Iowa". They are having a charity auction and much of the proceeds go to their charity.

Mother's Kiss

Okay. Here's a pastel drawing. I did this at the Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art event two weeks ago. I didn't win but I placed (fifth out of over 70 artists). It was a blast! I'll be doing it again next year. -- My first idea was a more traditional mother and child but I realized I was playing to the judges rather than being true to my style. I think I did better by doing something from my heart then from my head. This piece is on paper (for some reason they won't let us draw directly on the sidewalk) so I still have it. It's a little over 3 feet by 4 feet. Also, I was on the front page of the local newspaper doing this drawing with my daughter in the forground. That was fun too!
