Sending some love!

I know I've been quite absent lately...not enough time to do all that I'd like.
Just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's DAy!

Hidden message

Whoa! It's been a while since I last posted here :) Here is my «Hidden message» illustrations. They are part of my Valentine series, the first one says "You light up my day", the second, "I wish I could fit you in my tiny purse". Also, I've been posting some in progress work on my blog; no secret messages there, but I'd love to have any feedback :) Ejoy!

Valentine and anti-valentine

No, I do not imagine these as part of the *same* conversation. They
are two *different* conversations occurring in alternate realities.
Again, for dabbler's theme.

Transitional valentine and antivalentine

I had so much fun on my anole transitions piece that I made a transitions valentine and a transitions antivalentine (I prefer to think of it as for Dot's theme rather than Dot's contest--I'm having fun with it, that's all.)

On the first one, I just changed the background (from my transitions anole on leaves) and added text. On the second one, I fiddled a bit more--changed the background and text. Click images to view larger.

Antivalentine: We Eat men for Breakfast

This is my third attempt at an antivalentine for dabbler's contest.
Not that I expect to win.

Soon forgotten Anti-valentine

for dabbler's black-heart theme.

Soon Forgotten, an anti-valentine. This is my first anti-valentine for dabbler's black-heart anti-valentine contest. * I thought it should be sort of the opposite of a real loving valentine, cluttered, ugly, dark, and with negative sentiments. The colors represent the jumble of emotions in a relationship gone bad. The snow is the freeze that comes between lovers when things go wrong. The hearts are dark and somewhat indistinct. I like the way the words are disappearing into the picture, dissolving into the background. (In my real life, though, my loves are not soon forgotten--this is what I might tell them in a fit of fury, but it is not the truth.) Click images to see larger.

(This is for when BB disappoints me or I disappoint him.)

*Ironically, I had forgotten it was called a "black-heart" contest, but black just seemed like the appropriate color!
