OCTOBER SKY by CJ at Pro Artz
Since we haven't had a challenge for several months, I thought I'd post one of my latest works. On the way home from the Y early one morning, I took some photos of a gorgeous orange dawn. (Luckily I carry my camera so I don't miss a random great shot.) I created the painting you see below from the photo (right.)(Click on images for larger views.)

IF - Clutter

Clutter Buster - Pug Dog Art by Tanya Amberson
About This Painting:
This little guy thinks that recycling an old boot into a doggy toy is a wonderful idea. A terrific example of how to reduce clutter. Just make sure you don't recycle something someone is still using or you could end up in the dog house!

Tropical Jungle
This one reminds me of the few years that we were blessed enough to have lived in Hawaii. If I listen close enough, I can almost hear the geccos chirping... and my heart begging me to move back!

If I were a king

If I were a king
If I had everything
If I had you and I could give you your dreams
If I were giant-sized, on top of it all
Then tell me what in the world would I go on for
If I had it all

RainRose for Bearuh
RainRose for Bearuh, by Mary Stebbins Taitt.
I did this over completely from scratch, I made it bigger and added more rain droplets.
I hope I didn't upset you with my personal concerns for my own brain tumor, I didn't mean to and I deeply apologize if I did. (I went back to the neurologist today and have to have another MRI.)
Meanwhile, I send (((hugs))), prayers and healing vibes for you and your grandfather.
This by the way is my Illustration Friday open entry, so if you have any votes left and like it . . .

Camels at the Detroit Zoo
"Afifah, have you heard the one about the blond camel with two humongous humps?"
"Fahad! Shhh! Must you be so crude?"
Camels at the Detroit Zoo, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Click image to view larger. This is another rapid smudge painting, because a week isn't long enough for me to make my usual kind of painting.

Cancer: In the aftermath (Mourning)
Cancer: In the aftermath (mourning), by Mary Stebbins Taitt. My father died of cancer, my sister-in-law died of cancer, two of my best friends died of cancer. I am deeply sorry. For them, and me and everyone else! Click image to view larger.
This is a water-color pencil drawing/painting on real paper. (I have been working digitally lately, for the most part), It was taken from a photo of a stranger at the Ren Fair, so if it's you, I apologize. And I can send you the original painting if you want it. I am imagining him standing all in black at the graveside of someone he loved, as I have seen people do in the past.
