Winner! I am in love with a lot of the entries for "Zombies" and have several favorites. Choosing is always hard - I want new people to win, I want to balance styles, I want to be sure the theme is best represented. My pick has won before but she's met my requirements and I am struck by the gothic/noir feeling of the pieces.
Robots, robots... I loved Frankenbarry's illustration but he won 2 weeks ago (you can't win again for 3 weeks after a win). Josh Pincus' was fun as always, with an interesting tale. Diane Evans' was sweet (and a little creepy). Alexandre's was fun and will be a great story. Gerald's was a stroke of genius! Anish's was tragic. Josh's (musarter) wonderful robot conveyed a lot of tension - what happens next? Roberta's cute little robot has a lot of heart. And TP's minibot is adorable. So who should I choose? It's so tough... but I'm going with Diana Evans' fembot - it's odd, creative, and well executed.

Great work on the Grimm challenge, everyone! As always, choosing a winner is a very stressful task - the styles are so different (as they should be) and the quality is so good. For this challenge, I'm picking the Rapunzel by:

Well, as usual, so many great entries that it's painful to chose. In my book, everyone that participates in the Monday Artday themes are winners as we all benefit from each other. Fantastic work, everyone!

Who to choose for the Summer theme winner? I've said it before and I'll say it again, choosing a winner each week is the hardest part about moderating this blog. A person that wins can't win again for 3 weeks to give more people a chance, so that eliminates a few. The theme must be well represented so that highlights several. That usually brings the finalists down to three to about ten people. Now I have to be objective and not favor styles or friends. Still hard. This week I loved a lot of pieces. Pascal always shows joy and passion in his work. Josh Pincus always has wonderful stories with his fun illustrations. Emila always does beautiful work. Deborah Mori and Roberta always does fun and cute illustrations. Ces and Zari always have beautiful work. Richard Cardona always does the most amazing and professional graphics. Those I haven't mentioned, well, much of those just blew me away. I particularly liked Candace Trew Camling's and Martha's, and Amy's. But one illustration stood out most for this judge as representing Summer.
Great job on last week's theme, everyone! I am continually impressed by all of the entries here.

Wow!!! Big time wow! So many entries for the Hair theme, all of them incredible, most of them just blew me away! I am so impressed with all of you. I want you to know that I occasionally get email from professional illustrators that love this blog and are always inspired by all of the entries here. Keep it up, everyone!
