Invisible
I guess if I stretch this a bit, it will work for "Invisible," since... I guess... the skateboard is out of view, thus making it "invisible" to the character.
Anyway, this is my first post for MA. Would love to know what you think!

Insanity
The Amazing Invisible Bearuh!

I have not completely disapeared.. in fact, I started a new blog and username. You can find my new art ->here<-
I just wanted to stop by and say wow this place has GROWN since I first started it many years ago!! Its Iinsane!! Mike.. you have done a truly wonderful job with keeping this blog running. Thanks for keeping all of the fun going for everyone!
oh the insanity.
the real insanity of this illustration is that I actually depicted one of the elves reading "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" to me... the quote says "Romilda, Romilda Vane of course". I also think its pretty insane that I just ordered new business cards that have my job title listed as "Ringleader and Chief Heckler". Holy Crap Batman, what have I done?

Insanity
Ship of Fools (Latin: Stultifera Navis) is a satire published 1494 in Basel, Switzerland by Sebastian Brant, a conservative German theologian.
Sometimes it happened that crazy people were entrust to sailors; for example in Frankfurt, in 1399, some sailors were in charge to take away an insane person that was walking naked.
This story inspired my illustration. I think sometimes insanity scares people, so the unrecognizable has to move away, like happened in the Ship of Fools. The ghost of the society can live only in an invisible place.

I killed him!
This is an older drawing but fits insanity rather well, I think. It is actually an illustration for one of my siblings old stories. The woman was, indeed, in an asylum for killing her husband for something or another. Don't remember exactly.
The reason the image looks funny is because it is a photo of the drawing which is too big to scan. The piece of art is actually taped to my wall, currently.

insanity

A group of tigers danced with me
A poem of insanity
One time I ate the letter “G”
A poem of insanity
I fought alone in World War III
A poem of insanity
My arms are where my knees should be
A poem of insanity
I live next door to Brenda Lee
A poem of insanity
They’re watching me with ears that see
A poem of insanity
I built the Bridge at Tappan Zee
A poem of insanity
Above the purple manatee
A poem of insanity
I think about a killing spree
A poem of insanity
And eating crackers with baked brie
A poem of insanity
Once I wrestled big John Wayne
And then I flushed him down the drain
A school of fish I’d entertain
While serving them hot beef chow mein
I thought about a town in Spain
Until I was declared insane
The floor is covered with debris
I see my name on the marquee
I’m introduced by the emcee
But no one hears my constant plea
No one’s here, no one but me
And my poem of insanity

Insanity
Hamlet: the epitomy of arguable Insanity.
Ghost: I am thy father's spirit,
Doom'd for a certain term to ... walk the night,
And for the day confined to fast in fires,
Till the foul crimes done in my days of nature
Are burnt and purged away. ......

Invisible
Invisible
Hi, I'm Glad To Be Here!
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself! I'm Susan Mordigal, and just joined Monday Artday. I've had a blast with Illustration Friday, and decided I needed even more challenges and to meet even more artists! I hope it's OK to post outside the theme, maybe like Andrew I can catagorize it under "No challenge week" from the other week? I love the challenge, "Invisible" and I'm working on a piece for it right now, hopefully it'll be ready by the weekend. I haven't had a chance to even consider the new "insanity" challenge, but I'm sure it'll be all too easy to relate to! I am mainly a colored pencil artist who focuses on children's themes. The piece above I finished last week and is of my beagle mix Cosmo. I am in the process of writing and illustrating a picture book about him and this is part of my studies of drawing him in different poses, light, etc. I am also a member of SCBWI and will be attending local meetings soon, but if anyone has any input or insight I'm more than welcome to it, thanks!
New Challenge - Insanity
The new challenge is:Insanity!
Illustrate your idea of insanity. Is it light like The Marx Brothers or dark like Hannibal Lecter?
The "Family" challenge, the "Horse" challenge, and the "Mystic" challenge are over. The new challenge is "Insanity" and ends on February 1, 2010. The "Invisible" challenge continues for another week and ends on January 25, 2010.
