Moon Collage, by Bagalagalaga

Here's my first Monday Artday submission, a collage done in Photoshop, using some textures I collected around the apartment. I love art blogs like this, where you can see a huge variety of interpretations on one very simple concept, like "moon". You can find more art by this doodling chemist on my blog. Thanks for looking, comments appreciated!

Together

This piece was inspired by a Finnish blog challenge. I'm trying to improve my Photoshop skills and I think making collages is a good way to do that. Besides it suited my theme :)

Mustang Battle for Supremacy, in Willie's Mole
Mustang Battle for Supremacy, By Mary Stebbins Taitt. Most of the background was done with handmade stencils and water colors. I painted in a few trees. The mustangs were done in Photoshop with flowers over them. The whole things is a sort of loose take off on a painting by Wesley Dennis called "The Mustang," which I had in my room, framed on the wall, as a kid. I couldn't find one on-line to link to so you could see it.
I was drawn to this project because I have an MS in Biology and I did my Master's thesis research on "The Social Behavior of Free-ranging Appaloosa Horses." (These aren't appaloosas.).
I had fun doing this but was really upset to discover that enough moisture leaked through the paper to make some of the thousands of dots on the previous picture, which I've been working on for two weeks, run! :-( I haven't posted it yet becasue I am still working on it, but you can click here to see a much earlier draft if yr interested.

GRIMM'S TALES' CHARACTERS
Hello again everyone,
Here are some characters of Grimm's Fairy Tales, made using felt and paper scraps.
I made them some time ago so I feel a bit of a cheat.. I will try to find the time to do something new for this week's challenge.
Hope they are recognisable enough...

Rainbirds CD
At this moment in my life if I were to design a CD cover, I would submit this:

In the vain of Guerilla Art, I'm doing a 'giveaway'challenge in which readers comment on positive goodbyes which I call Rainbirds. The winner receives a signed photographic print of this illustrative collage entitled Rainbirds. Though 'goodbyes'' are often considered sad, somber events there is also great freedom and release in deciding to say goodbye and doing it. So if your interested in winning a print of this image, please go to my website -Amarettogirl and leave me a comment about the 'rainbird' in your life by the fourth of July!!! (It'll be our way of celebrating Independance Day!!) It would be great if the winner would also do a giveaway of art in exchange!! http://amarettogirl.squarespace.com/blog/2008/6/17/guerilla-art-and-first-giveaway.html - Amarettogirl a.k.a. marisol diaz

MONEY - financial investment
A page in my glue book made with savings receipts from the 1920s, a vintage picture that came on a junk mail postcard, a fortune cookie fortune, and some colored foil from a candy bar.

Newbie!

Hi, everyone! My name is Missy Sue. Just wanted to give a quick hello and introduce myself! I feel privileged to be here among so many talented artists! As far as my art goes, anything goes, lol. I use lots of different mediums and techniques and styles. I do have to say that my fav is collage, especially when it's mixed with paint and all types of messy stuff, lol. I live in rural Missouri with my wonderful 6 year old son and teach art classes part time at my local Micheal's store. Pleasure to meet everyone and I can't wait to get to know you!
