Supernatural Light - Malibu Creek oil painting
At times nature itself glows with almost supernatural light. This painting was inspired by a scene in the Santa Monica Mountains, near Malibu Creek

Tropical Jungle

I call this one "A Light in the Forrest." While rainforests are continuing to be cut down there are still many undiscovered mysteries living within these forests. The Red-eyed Tree Frog has been an ambassador for rainforests which is actually quit appropriate. Frogs are considered an indicator species which means when they become diseased or disappear it is an early indication that there is some thing harmful in the environment.

Summer Reflections
An oil painting I finished not long ago - reflecting some of the joys of a summer day. I know this isn't on the topic, but I understand it's ok to upload other work, too. Hope so. Karen Winters - new paintings all the time at Karen's blog
