She felt so sad,
and didn't know why.
Little Juliet just wanted to cry!

GRIMM'S TALES' CHARACTERS

Hello again everyone,
Here are some characters of Grimm's Fairy Tales, made using felt and paper scraps.
I made them some time ago so I feel a bit of a cheat.. I will try to find the time to do something new for this week's challenge.
Hope they are recognisable enough...

Beatrix Potter

I little late, I know. This is an image I recreated from "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny." I have been reading her stories to my young son and I have been impressed by her illustration style; she was really good with atmospheric perspective and a great degree of realism from observation. So I tried to incorporate some of that into my interpretation.

The other night, while I was reading "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny" out loud, I decided it sounded more appropriate uttered in the Old Queens English; which is a corny British accent on my part.

MA_ Summer

What is better in the summer than to play on the shoreline, frivolous and free to be whoever you want to be, if only for the day?

Hey, better late than never.

I have trying to squeeze in time to finish this one. It took so much longer than I thought it would.

ICE CREAM!

Okay, so it's not a Willie Wonka piece, but it is about the sweet stuff we adore as children and on into adulthood! Isn't that what's it's all about?

Meet Tokyo

Here's an Illustration based on my Kitty Tokyo. The only difference is that my cat is black, but I thought that white was a better choice art-wise. I am doing a series right now about childhood's best buddies and have also done illustrations with a doxie and a bunny. You can see them here, along with a pic of Tokyo :) Thanks for your input!

Hot chocolate!

Image created in gouache, pen plus "Tangled Up" Font from Dinc! Type.

This is the first really big illo that I have done since the finger injury and it went well. Even though the finger is still a bit stiff; I am quite happy with how this piece turned out.

Mystical

"There's worlds to be seen..." from my kid book, Things With Wings Are Amazing Things. (Please someone tell me to just publish the book! I've been sitting on it for awhile and debating if I should self publish or send it out in the rounds again.)
