Green Legs and Ham

Hi Ho, Kermit the Frog, and Family Here!

Kermie, Miss Piggy, and their cute little tad-pig (or is he a pig-pole?), enjoying a sunny day, and sweeping the clouds away in Sesame Pond. They've decided to name the little guy: Bacon N. Legs... think of the culinary possibilities!

This one's my post for Family, and Frog, and even a late entry for Feast, hey tastes like Chicken, too! Wow, at this rate, I might be able to make this one last through 2010!

And The Winner Is... Lauren Wilson!

The winner for the "Feast" challenge is:

Lauren Wilson!

Congratulations to Lauren Wilson. I chose Lauren's "wolf with rabbits" as the winner for the Feast challenge. Lauren did a great job illustrating the theme. Great watercolor, excellent drawing skills, amazing realization of the environment (not easy illustrating a good hole in the ground). Overall, just a fantastic piece. Well done, Lauren!

I've written this before but I want to repeat it: The quality of art and the wonderful artists here at Monday Artday constantly amaze me. You are all terrific and inspiring and the reason why this blog is so popular. It's always the hardest thing I do all week to pick a winner. Keep 'em coming, artists!

Prize! I said there would be a prize for this challenge. Lauren has won a large Moleskine watercolor sketchbook and a pocket watercolor set. Congrats, Lauren!

A cute dopey wolf enjoys a truce with the rabbit family and joins them for a dinner of carrots. Wanted to have this done a day or so earlier, but real life intervened in the form of a flat tire. Grr! Hehe.

Burger Time!

This is my Monday Artday submission for "feast". Although I don't think it counts as a feast until I explain that this little burger is actually several stories high.

I've been doing these MS Spraypaint images as of late and 100% enjoying them.

feast

When a loaf of bread looks like a banquet, I've no right buying tobacco.
A feast means something different to different people.

Napoleon Dynamite

The Napoleon Dino-Mite: Common during the Jurassic period – these pesky critters were known to infest, and consume the tasty rear-brain meat of the mighty Stegosaurus. Sadly, this steady diet of rear-brain meat ultimately led to an outbreak of Mad-Stegosaurus Disease, and the eventual extinction of the Napoleon Dino-Mite.

New Challenge - Feast!

The new challenge is:

Feast!

Illustrate a feast! Up in the northern hemisphere, we have a lot of eating holidays this time of year. The U.S. has Thanksgiving on November 26 this year, Canada had Thanksgiving on October 12, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday December 11, Christmas is December 25, and many other religions celebrate the harvest of fall, the shortest day (Winter Solstice, December 21), and Yule celebrations. Of course, Christmas is also celebrated in the southern hemisphere on December 25 - must be really odd to sing about snow in Summer. Hindus celebrated Diwali (festival of lights) on October 17th. For Islam, the New Year is December 18 (not a feast day but a time for religious reflection). So let's celebrate!

A PRIZE!

For this challenge, the winner will receive an actual prize! I will mail a prize to the chosen winner (the winner will need to supply an address). The prize will be announced next week. You have 2 weeks so get busy, artists!

The "Chicken" and the "Werewolf" challenge is over. The new challenge is "Feast" and ends on December 7, 2009. Another new challenge, "Gratitude," ends on November 30, 2009.
