Tulips at the Village Markey III, with variant

I am probably not done with this yet, this is as far as I've gotten so far. But I need an instant gift for someone who wanted a sort of magenta theme, so I made a variant on the unfinished painting, framed it, and it is ready to go. The frame is actually sort of maroon--none of the colors look quite right. Click images to view larger.

Chicory

I know this is a summer project, but I got a new stand--it's a table easel for painting and it also fits my laptop so I was just trying it out! :-D Hope you don't mind summer flowers in the early spring. THIRST HUH? OK, Lemme think--a guy crawling across the desert toward a mirage?

I did this over completely from scratch, I made it bigger and added more rain droplets.

I hope I didn't upset you with my personal concerns for my own brain tumor, I didn't mean to and I deeply apologize if I did. (I went back to the neurologist today and have to have another MRI.)

Meanwhile, I send (((hugs))), prayers and healing vibes for you and your grandfather.

The Stained-Glass Evening Primrose Dream

Fallen

Behind the massive, immovable desk, a stained
glass evening primrose falls, shining yellow, small
sun, falls from the windowsill and disappears.
Irretrievable, I say, hoping I am wrong and you
will somehow rescue it.

But you won’t listen,
telling me instead, with the same enthusiasm
you have for beer and other women’s breasts,
that you have betrayed me with another woman.
When a primrose falls, it shatters.
