Caricature
This is fathead Sam Allardyce, manager of Blackburn Rovers and an obnoxious, unlikable fellow. He enjoys spatting out stupid comments and trying to start fights with other managers, particularly Liverpool's Rafa Benitez. But today Rafa got the better of fathead, both on the pitch and in the post-match interview.
"They have a style and they are a team that plays this way under this manager. We won so we they have to be thinking about whether the style is good or not. Some people have to talk before the press conference or after because it is more difficult for them to do a football job.
"I think it is a model for all the managers around the world, their style of football, his behaviour. It is the perfect model for all the kids and I'm sure all parents will enjoy this model and encourage their kids to be the same.
"The style of football, I think, Barcelona are thinking of copying.''
His sarcasm at the end cracked me up and inspired this drawing. I've never really done caricature before, but I enjoyed this and it got me trying to be a little more creative while coloring it digitally (normally I just use flat colors and a little shadow).

Caricature
This is my first real attempt at a caricature. It really turned into a slightly exaggerated portrait, but it will have to do for now. I'm posting anyway.
Winter games in Vancouver
I am rather embarassed to post it after looking at other people's entries. But here it is. It started off as a sketch of the guy in the centre then I went on adding more people (explains the lack of composition). Luckily they all wear thick clothes so I get away with drawing them rather shapeless. Of course apart from figure skaters who perform practically naked (that's why the guy with the gun is going to shoot her)

SNOW GAMES
(click on image for larger view)
This is my first response to Monday Artday. I imagined most people would create images of skiing, ice skating, or hockey, so I decided to follow a different path. I like games and puzzles, so I created a SNOW GAME.
Every snowflake is supposed to be unique, but in the image above there are two snowflakes that are exactly the same design. Can you find them?
********
“We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand... and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it before it is too late.”
---Marie Beyon Ray
********
I could, of course, have created my snowflakes by cutting folded paper (see example, left, of one of my cut-paper flakes) but anyone can cut a paper snowflake virtually at SnowDays. (It takes a while to load the page, so be patient.) I created about 35 flakes and chose 24 (one duplicated) for my Snow Game.

winter games
I am not a fan of the Olympics. I never have been. I have watched a total of fifteen minutes of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

I did this awhile ago, right at the time of the election. It seems the sentiment implied here has faded a bit.

Snow Game-walking in the snow ( step by step painting Process)
It's snowing heavily again today and so as a tribute to the weather,
I created this painting entitled " Walking on a Snowy Day".
Let me share you my step by step process:
1. I did a rough sketch with pencil on newsprint paper:
( based purely on my imagination-no photo references or model was used here )
2. Using acrylic and canvas , I started painting the background using
mainly sky blue diluted with Titanium white.
3. Then I continued putting on other colors of yellows and cadmium orange with
bits or raw sienna and white for the skin tone

4. I continue to cover the whole canvas with colors:
5. I continued the painting by outlining all the elements with a brush.
6. Finally, I painted the snow falling:
Voila! The painting is finished: total time of work: 3 hours
medium: acrylic on canvas size: 16" x 20"
