Here's my submission for "Cute Object" - I guess one of them is more sinister than cute, but overall I think it fits the theme. Will the Butter summon the courage to thwart the evil Toaster? Is this the end of Breadina and Breadford Breadson? To be continued at my blog......ok, probably not, but there are more pictures there.

Let me introduce you my cute objects:

This is Tammy, the tram who is a little bit sleepy on nightshift.


And this is the little star, who fell down from the sky during the play with his little friends.
An old pine catched him, but the little star were very sad, because he were far away from home. So the pine put him to his own top to help the little star be closer to home. On the top of the pine the little star shined and shined and the other stars just amired him.
At winter the old pine were taken from the wood to a family for christmas.
This way became the little star the top ornament on the christmas tree and it made him very happy...

100% Cute

Since all of my character illustrations tend to be on the cute side, I knew I had to create something for this week's challenge. While it's not quite an object, as it's sort of a bug, it does have the cute factor...in fact it's 100% cute.

The character I drew first as a quick sketch, then digitally drawn in Illustrator, finally as a composite with a background created in Photoshop. Created just for Monday Artday!

CURSES!

Cute object entry. I mean, look at him! He's just the cutest little mad cherry on top of ice cream you ever saw, right? He's just so mad that someone has tossed him on top of their ice cream that he shouts about it.

I tried something a bit odd for me. I hand drew the cherry guy then scanned him in the PC. Added some outlines and other things then moved him on top of an ice cream clip art. (Is that okay? I wasn't sure if that was "okay". My brain said it was like clipping out of a magazine.)

A few months ago, after downing a cup of Earl Grey, my Wacom tablet had a near-death experience, and I thought he was gone for good. Luckily for me (and my back account) I was able to bring him back from the brink. Hopefully he'll be around for another 10 years of vector-drawing madness.

The poor pear. The pear has always gotten a raw deal. It's been treated as a second-class fruit — the red-headed stepchild of the produce world.

New York City is "The Big Apple", not the "Big Pear". An endearing term for a loved one is "the apple of my eye". The noble apple stands for heart-stirring patriotism. It's as "American as apple pie", for goodness sake! Car enthusiasts long to paint their ride "candy apple red", 'cause that would make it cherry. Apple sauce and apple juice are always at the forefront of baby's first foods. As kids get older, Kellogg's offers them Apple Jacks and McDonald's offers apple slices as an alternative for french fries.

Apples even have enticing names like "Granny Smith" (how warm and homey!), "Red Delicious" and "Golden Delicious". Do you think Steve Jobs just arbitrarily chose "Apple" for the name of his company? He didn't go with "Pear" for a reason. Pears have stupid, almost unpronounceable names, like Bosc or D'anjou. And I don't even know if I spelled those correctly. Sure, there's Bartlett, too. Ever know anyone named "Bartlett"? He was that fat kid in elementary school. You know, the bookworm that everyone made fun of. And, of course, no one wants to be referred to as "pear-shaped".

And it's not just apples that overshadow pears. There are grapes with their tag as "Nature's Candy". The sour lemon is renowned for its deliciously refreshing summertime beverage. The mysterious pomegranate is also known as a Chinese apple to add to its appeal. There's the sensuous strawberry, favored by candy-makers to dip into chocolate. There are bananas, with their splits and cream pies and their comedic notoriety from their peels. Slip on a banana peel and it's funny. Slip on a pear peel and you'll break your f***ing neck. Even the exotic kiwi is chosen from a fruit basket before the lowly pear.

So, give a little support to the poor genus Pyrus L in the class of Maloideae in the subfamily Rosaceae.

And pass me an apple.
